In the 1980s, now a young adult, Charles hung out at a gentlemen's nightclub and approached a blonde woman named Delilah, and they then picked up another red-headed woman before leaving to the Hackensack Hotel. A few days later, Charles took his group of three boys on a Peter Pan-esque adventure to get Captain Hook. This displeased Charles, who murdered the janitor with his pocketknife and dumped his body in the forest. One day while running through the house, the janitor became angry with him for messing up his clean floor with dirty sneakers and proceeded to wet Ray's only pair of shoes with the filthy mop to spite him. Charles attempted to mold three boys into following his killer footsteps, teaching them swear words and reading them fairy tales twisted to revolve around murder. He confirms that he likes both planned and spontaneous killings, but spontaneous killings are the most fun and the two spend time dancing together. He then overheard the news that the Hackensack Slasher, a serial killer, was on the loose on the radio, and delighted in plunging a knife into his birthday cake.
